Today it was Free Premium Membership day and I took advantage of it to write this journal. I'm using the awesome journal skin From Dust by Ubisoft. Wow!!  This entry should work as some sort of reflection (boring!) and I want to leave it written down so that I can always remember the right mood that led me to this amazing world: drawing.

After having studied Andrew Loomis and Steven Vilppu's book for two months so far I am starting to see how long this path is. Every step I take means a whole new level of knowledge I must acquire and it is sometimes quite depressing. Nevertheless, I just realised that this makes me feel happy and it absorbs me so I must be on the right track: I spend hours and hours trying to draw and I wake up every morning eager to start a new chapter of my studies: proportions, perspective, value, form, anatomy…

I am trying to take this seriously so that I'll be hopefully able to start an illustration course next year. I DO NOT know where this is gonna take me but all I've been doing in life so far is trying to go with the flow so that's what I'm doing with drawing. Once I've mastered the basics (such as human figure, volume and perspective) I'll try to start with digital and traditional coloring and painting. I just bought a tablet for Christmas and can't wait to use it. However, it is gonna take me a while (maybe in a year lol) although I am improving.

To my "self" in a near future: do not stop doing what you love. Do not think of either opportunity cost or social commitment. Just draw, keep trying your best because you can do this and the proof is this journal entry (look at how lame you were and you'll see the progress). You're awesome!!

PS: I'd like to thank DeviantArt for providing me with such an opportunity (lol), Free Premium Membership day rocks!
